PORT HURON, Mich. (May 22, 2003)--The ship?s colors are lowered for the last time aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Bramble; the cutter was decommissioned during a ceremony here, today. Bramble has served the Coast Guard for almost 60 years participating in almost all of the Coast Guard?s core missions at least once in her career. Bramble has been turned over to the city of Port Huron for use as a museum. Many of the crew will be cross decking to the Bramble?s replacement the 225-foot cutter Hollyhock.
