NEW LONDON, Conn. (Oct. 3, 2003) --- Regimental commander, staff and companies march during a regimental review conducted in honor of Class of 1953 alumni. Drill practice, regimental reviews, formations and other ceremonies add value to a cadet's development an serve as a reminder of the military nature of the Academy and proud heritage of our service. It is intended that self-discipline, patience, precision, obedience, teamwork, accountability and command presence become familiar habits to all cadets.Theseevents also serve as a visual reminders of the mlitary spirit needed for both the profession of humanitarian and public service and the profession of arms which future Coast Guard officers embrace; they are reminders to the people who live within the barracks and to the people who trust us to serve this nation.
