CAPE COD, Mass. (Mar. 9, 2004)-- Lt. Christopher Kluckhuhn talks to the pilot of an incoming HH-60 Jayhawk rescue helicopter at Air Station Cape Cod. Kluckhuhn and Canadian Air Force Capt. Joseph R. Palfy were the first Coast Guard pilots to be ordered to fly a Jayhawk to New York City immediately following the attacks on the Twin Towers. Kluckhuhn and Palfy hoped to use the Jayhawk's basket hoist to save people from the burning buildings. USCG photo by PA2 Amy Thomas
