(Nov. 30, 2004) One rung at a time, a Dominican Republic migrant climbs the Jacob?s ladder to board U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Oak, a 225-foot buoy tender homeported in Charleston, S.C., assisted by Seaman Rolando E. Romero, 21, from Pasadena, Calif. One hundred three migrants were intercepted about 2 miles west of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, in a 30-foot yola, or migrant vessel, January 30 and transferred to the Oak for repatriation back to the Dominican Republic.
