NEW YORK (May 8, 2005) America's Tall Ship, the 295-foot Coast Guard Barque Eagle, sails through New York Harbor on May 8, 2006. The Eagle will return to New York on May 11th to help kick-off the Volvo Ocean Race. The Eagle allows future officers the ability to apply the navigation, engineering, and leadership training they receive in classes at the Coast Guard Academy to the real-life challenges of life at sea.
