The aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk arrives at Naval Air Station North Island. The conventionally powered aircraft carrier had been stationed in Yokosuka, Japan, since 1998, as the Navy's only forward deployed aircraft carrier. The ship will be decommissioned in 2009. USS George Washington (in the background) will replace Kitty Hawk in Yokosuka.
