Puerto Baquerizo Moreno on Isla San Cristobal, GALAPAGOS ISLAND (Jan. 25)--Chief D.J. Toll (foreground) was one of ten Gulf Strike Team personnel sent to the Galapagos Islands to assist the Ecuadorian government with clean-up of the oil and eventual salvage of the tank vessel Jessica, which still sits on the rocks near San Cristobal Island. The tank vessel Jessica ran hard aground in the Galapagos archipelago Jan. 16, spilling about 200,000 gallons of oil into a pristine environment known for unique wildlife and aquatic species.
