A 47-foot motor lifeboat from Station Tillamook Bay, Ore., rushes to the rescue of a small boat. The bar at the entrance of the bay is one of the most treacherous bars on the Oregon coast. Tillamook Bay is one of the 20 surf stations in the U.S. Coast Guard. Surf station crews undergo rigorous training to ensure they can respond to distress calls and maritime emergencies during storms that create high and turbulent seas..
