(Sept. 6, 2007) ONBOARD THE USCGC BOUTWELL - The Lu Rong Yu 6007 was boarded by the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Boutwell on Thursday here after they were suspected of using high seas drift nets. A boarding team from the Boutwell boarded the vessel earlier in the day while deployed to represent the U.S. Coast Guard in the North Pacific Coast Guard Forum (NPCGF). This forum was created to increase the international maritime safety and security of the Northern Pacific Ocean and its borders, and to help increase maritime protection from high seas drift nets.
