The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter POINT WELLS is an 82-foot patrol boat built in 1963 and decommisioned in 2000. In it's thirty seven years of service, POINT WELLS was credited with three drug seizures, a scallop seizure, a squid seizure and has assisted or towed millions of dollars of property. POINT WELLS also responded to the TWA flight 800 disaster, the JFK Jr. Search and Recovery tragedy, and the Flight 990 Egyptian Airline crash as well. Upon decommissioning, POINT WELLS was transferred to the Colombian Coast Guard.
