(April 28, 2008) MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - Lt. Vincent Jansen, of Air Station San Diego, sets up his equipment and prepares to fire a 45-caliber pistol during the 2008 U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet Forces Pistol Match held at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton from April 26 to 27. During individual and team events, eight members from Coast Guard Pacific Area commands competed against participants from the Navy, Marine Corps and retired military. The Navy Marksmanship Team conducts the Fleet Forces Pacific Area and Atlantic Area Command Rifle and Pistol Matches each year in which hundreds of sailors are trained in service rifle and service pistol marksmanship, small arms safety, and marksmanship competition rules and procedures.
