NEW ORLEANs, La. (June 6, 2004)--Army Col. Nick Demaria is eternally remembered June 6 in an engraved brick, which lays near the entrance to the D-Day museum in New Orleans. The D-Day museum will unveil a fully restored original Higgins LCP(L) boat June 7 dedicated in memory of Coast Guard Signalman Douglas Monro who lost his life rescuing a battalion of marines trapped by enemy Japanese forces at Point Cruz, Guadalcanal, Sept. 27, 1942.
