Coast Guard civilian employee Mark McCabe was awarded in November 2008 the Department of Homeland Security Secretary's Award for Excellence. As the chief of the Resource and Performance Management Branch at the First District, McCabe was cited for outstanding leadership, mentorship and exemplifying the Coast Guard's core values of honor, respect and devotion to duty.
