    ATLANTIC OCEAN- Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Andrew Royse notifies the bridge of a drill scenario as part of a Basic Engineering Casualty Control Exercise (BECCE) drill in the control booth for the engine room onboard the Coast Guard Cutter Forward while underway during an Africa Partnership Station (APS) mission May 28, 2011.

    The Forward is on a scheduled deployment in West Africa supporting the APS, which aims to strengthen global maritime partnerships through training and other collaborative activities in order to improve maritime safety and security in Africa. During the patrol, the crew of the Forward regularly conducts damage control training to remain proficient in case of a real emergency.
