ATLANTIC OCEAN--Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Charles Jones operates the 50 caliber machine gun as part of a gunnery exercise onboard the Coast Guard Cutter Forward while underway during an Africa Partnership Station (APS) mission June 16, 2011.
The Forward is on a scheduled deployment in West Africa supporting the APS, which aims to increase the professional skills and knowledge of African maritime forces, and improve relations between the United States and each host nation.
