REEDSPORT, Ore. - Coast Guard Chief Boatswains Mate Ward Halstead is presented a certificate of retirement at a ceremony held at Station Umpqua River, Ore., Sept. 30, 2011. Halstead served over 30 years in the Coast Guard, predominantly conducting and teaching search and rescue as a Coast Guard surfman on the Pacific Northwest Coast.
