Navy Capt. Edward Zellem can officially call himself an award-winning author for his books Zarbul Masalha: 151 Afghan Dari Proverbs and Afghan Proverbs Illustrated. Zarbul took first place in the 2013 Military Writers Society of America Book Awards. Afghan Proverbs Illustrasted took first place in the 21st Annual Writer's Digest Self-Published Book Awards.
