Brig. Gen. Jon Miller, the U.S. European Command Joint Assessement Team, introduces several members of the assessement team to U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney and Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili. At the request of the government of Georgia, the United States is providing humantarian assistance to the people of Georgia. The HA efforts are being coordinated by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development with assistance, as required, being provided by the Department of Defense following the conflict between Russian and Georgian forces. The Vice President visited Georgia, Sept. 4, 2008.
