Sgt. Ebru Kisnak currently serves as a Marine Corps drill instructor with November Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C. Kisnak joined the Marine Corps in July 2004 and became a drill instructor in June 2012. "I wanted to come back to the basics," said Kisnak. “I also wanted to experience the pride of being able to say I made Marines and being able to change lives.” Kisnak is a native of Trenton, N.J. About 600 Marine Corps drill instructors shape the approximately 20,000 recruits who come to Parris Island annually into basic United States Marines.
