Col. Lance A. McDaniel, left, receives the Mess Hall of the Quarter trophy for Marine Corps Installations Pacific from Chief Warrant Officer Lisa M. Figueroa Dec. 18 during a ceremony at the 12th Marine Regiment’s mess hall. The Marines managing the mess hall earned the award after a number of factors were reviewed over the past quarter including mess hall inspections, financial management, sanitation, and customer service. The event marked the first time in over three years the regiment’s mess hall earned the award. McDaniel is the commanding officer of 12th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Figueroa is the food service operations officer for Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Corps Base Camp Smedley D. Butler, Marine Corps Installations Pacific.
