Navy Reserve Component doctors, dentists, nurses and hospital corpsman from Operational Health Support Unit (OHSU) Detachment S join their youngest and oldest members, Hospitalman Ryan Banner and dentist Cmdr. James Haydu in cutting a celebratory cake to honor the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Navy Dental Corps. President William Howard Taft signed the Navy Dental Bill Aug. 12, 1912, establishing the Navy Dental Corps, who's mission is to support the combat readiness of the uniformed services by maximizing force dental readiness by promoting, protecting, and maintaining the dental health of all those entrusted to their care.
