Major General Juan G. Ayala, Commanding General Marine Corps Installations Command, Headquarter in Washington, D.C., was the keynote speaker during the 2014 MAES Leadership Academy Closing and Awards Banquet at the El Paso Club, El Paso, Texas, Feb. 8, 2014. Maj. Gen. Ayala an El Paso native, gave words of wisdom to MAES students and focused primarily on the importance of leadership as a tool of success. In 2011, Maj. Gen. Ayala received UTEP's Golden Nugget Award as an outstanding past graduate as he continues to move up in the ranks.
