Petty Officer 2nd Class Dagan Honda mans a sound powered telephone while maintenance is being conducted on a jet-blast deflector on the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. JBDs require constant maintenance because of the excessive heat they endure from flight operations. Ronald Reagan is currently deployed to the 5th Fleet/NAVCENT area of responsibility. Operations in the NAVCENT area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
