General of the Army Omar Nelson Bradley (left) and his senior aid, Col. Grover Woodrow Asmus (who would marry Donna Reed about three years later), pin the Warrant Officer 2 rank onto Silas "Si" Duncan III, who was an aide to Bradley at the time in 1971. Duncan had an extraordinary career in the Army. He worked in the White House under Presidents Kennedy and Johnson, for generals including Bradley (the last five-star General of the Army), William Westmoreland, and Creighton Abrams, and in the enlisted, officer and warrant officer ranks. He retired as a major in 1986. (Photo courtesy of Silas and Charlotte Duncan)
