Pfc. Robert A. Wilson completes a quiz March 17 at the Camp Courtney Education Center during a Japanese language class. The class was started by Midori Chinen as a way to give back to the military community which helped teach her English. “I hope (the military community) will gain more interest in communicating with Okinawa people to make friendships and become more interested in Japanese culture,” said Chinen. Wilson is a legal services specialist with the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Chinen is a professional language teacher who coordinated through the Camp Courtney community relations office to voluntarily teach Japanese to interested participants on the installation.
