U.S. Naval Hospital (USNH) Yokosuka‚ Commanding Officer, Capt. Mark Turner addresses hospital staff during a command-wide Culture of Safety Stand-Down March 24.
Hospital staff will attend one of the multiple sessions, including streamed, on-line sessions for the USNH Yokosuka branch clinics located throughout mainland Japan, Chinhae, South Korea and Diego Garcia re-enforcing the hospital's dedication to patient safety and high quality care. The stand-down is part of Navy Medicine's initiative to empower its members to speak up on matters of patient safety and to report events in a non-punitive environment ensuring a culture of safety is more than a catch-phrase; it is a true culture of safety.
