Vice Adm. Mel Williams, Jr., commander, U.S. Second Fleet, recites the oath of enlistment to 10 Sailors from the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Bataan at Ground Zero, the former site of the World Trade Center. Nearly 1,500 Sailors and Marines from Bataan are in New York for a week of community outreach events, daily tours, participation in the city's annual Veterans Day Parade, and support for the grand reopening of the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.
