Rear Adm. Vic Guillory, Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command and U.S. Fourth Fleet (NAVSO/C4F), speaks with the crew of USNS Lewis and Clark (T-AKE 1) during his visit to the ship prior to its departure to join Operation Unified Response. Lewis and Clark crew members onloaded more than 1,100 pallets of food, water and supplies in Mayport for delivery to people affected by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Haiti Jan. 12. Lewis and Clark is conducting humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations for Operation Unified Response under control of NAVSO/C4F. NAVSO/C4F is directing all Naval assets and personnel in support of Joint Task Force Haiti, the joint command element directing U.S. military capabilities support to USAID and the U.N.
