U.S. Marines and Sailors with Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 11 and MAG-16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), board an MV-22B Osprey with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 165, MAG-11, 3rd MAW, at Naval Auxiliary Landing Field San Clemente Island, Calif., May 21, 2014. VMM-165 transported Marines, Sailors and gear to Naval Auxiliary Landing Field San Clemente Island, in order to participate in a search and rescue exercise (SAREX) conducted by Marines, Sailors and Coast Guardsmen, to improve the pilot’s survival methods and the search and rescue coordination and procedures.
