Marine Pfc. Theresa Cole, from Norwalk, Conn., talks to a senior citizen at the Carter Burden Senior Living Center during Fleet Week New York 2014. Cole is serving aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Oak Hill (LSD 51). Service members volunteered to deliver roughly 32 meals to those who are too sick to leave their home. Fleet Week New York, now in its 26th year, is the cities time-honored celebration of the sea services. It is an opportunity for the people of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today’s maritime services.
