Retired Sgt. Brendan Marrocco and his older brother Mike arrive at Bagram Air Field May 28, as participants of Operation Proper Exit, a Troop’s First Foundation initiative that allows wounded service members to return to the battlefield and leave on their own terms. Marrocco was injured in Baiji, Iraq, in 2009 when a projectile ripped through the door of his truck taking both of his legs and arms, severing his carotid artery and damaging his left eye. He became the first quadruple amputee in the military. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Lyndsey Prax)
