Odom (left) returns a salute to Petty Officer 1st Class Israel Barrickman after Mullen presented Barrickman with a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal at Camp Barber, Helmand province, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Dec. 21. Mullen visited the Marines and Sailors of 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, the ground combat element of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force - Afghanistan. Odom is the commanding officer of 3/8 and Barrickman is the 3/8 Battalion Aid Station administration chief.
