Soldiers of the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) prepare to be escorted by the Orlando police outside the building to a safe zone during an active shooter training exercise at the 1st Lt. David R. Wilson Center Armed Forces Reserve Center, May 7. This exercise marked the first combined effort to plan, coordinate and execute active shooter training event between the City of Orlando Police Department and 143d ESC Force Protection Team. The exercise simulated three active shooters inside the reserve center filled with more than 100 working Department of Defense civilians and military personnel. Over 40 OPD officers participated and responded to training event.
