Marines from Marine Wing Support Squadron 371 and other elements of 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing from Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., continue their efforts sifting through the debris from the AV-8B Harrier II crash site during the cleanup process in Imperial, Calif., Monday. “We are finishing the reclamation of the aircraft to recover all the small pieces, sifting through the dirt by hand,” said Lt. Col. John Ferguson, the executive officer of Marine Aircraft Group 13, stationed at MCAS Yuma. “We are working on getting the contamination out and then turning it over to the contractors to finish cleanup with the hazardous materials after the major components have all been recovered.”
