Marines from Marine Wing Support Squadron 371 and other elements of 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing from Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., sift through the debris from the AV-8B Harrier II crash site to recover components of the aircraft during the cleanup process in Imperial, Calif., Monday. “We are working on minimizing the impact zone and combing through the area to recover pieces [of the aircraft] ... to be used for investigation,” said Lt. Col. John Ferguson, the executive officer of Marine Aircraft Group 13, stationed at MCAS Yuma.
