Sgt. 1st Class Brian Frierson, day shift non-commissioned officer-in-charge at the Falcon Detainee Holding Area Annex, recently assumed a temporary first sergeant position while the company's original enlisted leader enjoys environmental leave. Frierson, a 21-year U.S. Army veteran who calls Cleveland his home, is assigned to Company I, 4th Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division-Baghdad. Frierson has four combat deployments, including a 1991 tour in the Gulf War. "It is always a privilege to lead Soldiers, regardless of the capacity it's in," Frierson explained. "Whether it is a first sergeant, platoon sergeant, squad leader - it should always be a privilege."
