United States Army Staff Sgt. Brandan Beiermann, 2nd Battalion, 210th Aviation Regiment, B Company Black Hawk instructor, received a Purple Heart at Fort Eustis, Va., after suffering a traumatic brain injury while deployed to Forward Operating Base Shank, Afghanistan. Beiermann, from Harvel, Ill., has been able to recover and continue his career in the Army.
