U.S. Soldiers of 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division led by Lt. Col. Scott Kendrick support the arrival of the Japanese Senior Vice Foreign Minister Seiko Hashimoto. She arrives with her entourage in two Black Hawk helicopters for the grand opening of a new power plant in As Samawah, Iraq. This 60 megawatt power plant was sponsored by the Japanese Provincial Reconstruction Team of Muthanna province and will provide much needed electricity to southern Iraq.
