U.S. Soldiers of 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division led by Lt. Col. Scott Kendrick work with Iraqi security forces to support the arrival of the Japanese Senior Vice Foreign Minister Seiko Hashimoto. She is in As Samawah, Iraq, for the opening of a new power plant. This 60 megawatt power plant was sponsored by the Japanese Provincial Reconstruction Team of Muthanna province and will provide much needed electricity to southern Iraq. December 22, 2008.
