Capt. Robert W. Warren assumed command of U.S. Coast Guard Sector San Juan in Puerto Rico, during a change of command ceremony July 15, 2014. In his role as sector commander, he will lead approximately 650 active duty, reserve and civilian men and women to conduct all Coast Guard missions in the Eastern Caribbean including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Warren exercises a variety of statutory authorities as captain of the port, officer in charge – Marine inspections, federal maritime security coordinator, federal on-scene coordinator and search and rescue mission coordinator.
