Mathis III, outgoing commander, Joint Task Force Civil Support, explains to the crowd how much of an honor and privilege it was to end his career at JTF-CS during a retirement ceremony here July 15, 2014. Mathis, who began his career on the Ides of March in 1975 enlisting as a Special Forces communications sergeant, will officially retire after 39 years of dedicated service to his country Oct. 31, 2014.
