U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Jeff W. Mathis III, outgoing commander, Joint Task Force Civil Support, explains to the crowd how much of an honor and privilege it was to end his career at JTF-CS during a retirement ceremony here July 15, 2014. Mathis, who began his career on the Ides of March in 1975 enlisting as a Special Forces communications sergeant, will officially retire after 39 years of dedicated service to his country Oct. 31, 2014.
