Sailors with the USS San Diego help a researcher with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) climb up a ladder from a rigid inflatable boat and onto the USS San Diego as part of a recovery mission, Aug. 08 2014. Marines and sailors from the 11th MEU and Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group team recovered 11 personnel from three isolated islands more than 900 nautical miles northwest of Hawaii and directly in the path of Hurricane Iselle. MEU aircraft transported the researchers to Midway Atoll where they could seek shelter from the storm. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Gunnery Sgt. Rome M. Lazarus/Released)
