Pete Hernandez, an El Paso, Texas, native, and his dog, Amber, search for hidden narcotics and explosives along a trail Aug. 7 during a training event at the Central Training Area, Okinawa, Japan. Amber wore a radio harness, so she could hear Hernandez’s commands from farther distances. Military working dog handlers executed explosives and narcotics detection, patrolling and bite work training throughout the day.
