Africa Partnership Station embarked trainees practice manning a fire hose aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Nashville during damage control training. The west African sailors, from Benin, Ghana and Togo, are embarked aboard Nashville for three weeks. Nashville is deployed as part of Africa Partnership Station 2009, an international initiative developed by Naval Forces Europe and Naval Forces Africa, which aims to work cooperatively with U.S. and international partners to enhance maritime safety and security for the continent of Africa.
