It was a hot Mojave Desert day for Soldiers training here, but that didn't stop Spc. Christian Dryer, 22, from Vancouver, Wash., from cooking up a feast for troops. Inside the field kitchen, temperatures soared into the low three-digits as he worked on grilled steaks, mashed potatoes, and veggies. "I'm used to the dry heat," said Dryer. "I spent six months in Afghanistan, so this isn't that bad." (Photo by G. A. Volb/Fort Irwin Public Affairs)
