Army Reserve drill sergeant Staff Sgt. Christopher Croslin, 95th Training Division (IET), gladly accepts the trophy for being named 2014 Army Reserve Drill Sergeant of the Year from Command Sgt. Maj. Dennis J. Woods, U.S. Army Initial Military Training command sergeant major. The competition has been held annually at Fort Jackson, S.C., since 1969, but did not include participants from the Reserve component until 1972. This year, two competitors from the 108th Training Command (IET), Croslin and Sgt. 1st Class Alex Montero, 98th Training Division (IET), fought for the title of Army Reserve Drill Sergeant of the Year.
