Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Dan Mueller, from St. Louis, fires an M4A1 carbine assault rifle during visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) team training on the flight deck of Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104). Sterett is underway in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility as part of the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group. Carl Vinson and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 17, are on deployment in the 7th Fleet area of operations supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
