Students from Okinawa International University visit Camp Foster Fire Department Sept. 29 at the Camp Foster Fire Station. “It is good to know how the military and Japanese fire departments work together to (ensure) that they are ready for emergency situations,” said Akiki Miyagi, a Tomigusuku City, Okinawa, native and student at the Okinawa International University. Miyagi is majoring in English language and American culture. The visit focused on informing the students about natural disaster preparedness, along with educating them on the relationship between military and Okinawa fire departments.
