Damage Controlman Erik Green and IC 2nd Class David Lalumia rush through the port break aboard the Arleigh Burke-Class guided-missile destroyer USS Mitscher (DDG 57) during a visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) training aboard. VBSS trainings increase members' proficiency in anti-piracy operations and help the ship increase crisis response readiness. Mitscher, home-ported, in Norfolk, Va., is deployed supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
