Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Jonathan Greenert extends a small personal gift to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician 1st Class Troy A. Comer at the 2014 USO annual Gala where senior Department of Defense leadership and civic leaders gathered to honor the service of the many men and women in uniform, their families and the 29,000 volunteers who make up the USO. Exceptional service members from each branch of service were honored during the evening and this year's USO Sailor of the Year honoree is Comer for saving the lives of service members through bomb neutralization techniques in Afghanistan as well as saving the lives of a mother and child from a burning building.
